He’s running 50 miles for his 50th on September 5. Join for a lap or ten — you’ll show up live on the map at phandel.com/live.html, and your miles get counted.
Temporarily share your location with the leaderboard, while your web browser is
up — if you lock your screen, exit the browser, or close this page you will
disappear, so keep your phone open!
Your first name, position and distance appear publicly on the live map. Nothing is
recorded before you tap start.
This only tracks while the page is open and the screen is on. Phones stop
giving location to a website the moment you lock the screen or switch apps —
that is an iOS/Android rule, not something a website can opt out of. This page asks
to keep your screen awake, so in practice: start it, keep the phone in your hand or
an armband, and don’t lock it. Time while it’s paused simply isn’t
counted.
Want to just put your phone in your pocket? Record the run however you normally do
(Watch, Strava, whatever) and tell Peter your distance — he’ll add it.
